Tumeric as an AntiAging Product
Tumeric Skin Care Anti Aging Product
  
Tumeric, Cucurma longa, is a plant relative of ginger and is native to South East Asia.
Tumeric is used primarily as a spice, after it is boiled, baked and ground into powder. The natural tumeric powder has limited cosmetic capabilities, due to the orange yellow color it imparts to the skin.
More recently, a colorless extract of tumeric has been reported to have potential in reducing fine lines and wrinkles of aging skin as well as undesired hyperpigmentation. In the study referenced below, a combination cream containing tumeric extract and niacinamide demonstrated modest efficacy as an anti aging product in white women who applied the combination cream to the face.
Similarly, in a study of a tumeric extract containing cream to the face in Chinese women, a reduction in hyperpigmentation was observed.
These are preliminary reports, but may add another natural ingredient to the antiaging product armamentarium.
