Ellagic Acid as Anti-Aging Product



Ellagic acid is one of a large group of fruit based derivatives which purported anti-oxidant properties.  Ellagic acid is found in high levels in strawberries, raspberries, grapes, cranberries, pomegranates and other fruits and vegetables.

A recent study, cites below, applied an ellagic acid cream to the skin of mice.  The skin of the mice demonstrated fewer wrinkles and aging skin changes after ultraviolet exposure, than the skin of mice that did not have the ellagic acid applications.

Studies of ellagic acid are early and certainly not definitive.  More research will be required before the effectiveness of ellagic acid skin care products is determined.
