What is Dysport and Why is Dysport used for Wrinkles and
Aging Skin?

Dysport is a newly FDA approved form of prescription injectable botulism toxin.  Dysport is approved for the treatment of wrinkles.  Dysport injections have been used in Europe and New Zealand for some time as a potentially less expensive alternative to Botox injections.
The Dysport website, cited below, discusses that Dysport has also been used to treat a variety of other neurological disorders as well as the excessive sweating condition called hyperhidrosis.

Dysport labeling will also include the new black box warning recently placed on Botox labels, which discusses the rare complication of spread of the botulism toxin from the injection site.
