Does Drinking Lots of Water Help Decrease Wrinkles?

While adequate hydration is important for all bodily functions, there has not been proof that drinking lots of water, above what is required for good health, improves our skin in the long run.  Dehydratingly-long plane rides, extremely low environmental humidity, or actual dehydration may temporarily worsen the appearance of fine lines but there is "no evidence" that water consumption "reduced wrinkles or improved complexion."

The American Academy of Dermatology continues to suggest that the best ways to avoid premature environmental aging is to avoid cigarettes and excessive sun exposure, wear a good sunscreen daily and eat a well-rounded healthy diet.
