The British Journal of Dermatology article, cited below, reports that Boots' "Protect & Perfect Beauty Serum is the first anti-aging cosmeceutical to be tested by skin biopsy and demonstrated to have a positive effect on aging skin. Boots' "Protect & Perfect Beauty Serum was applied first for 12 days under occlusion and then skin biopsies obtained which were reported to show new collagen fibrils formation. The subjects then continued to apply Boots' "Protect & Perfect Beauty Serum to their faces for 12 months. The authors report that a significant number of the subjects demonstrated improvement in facial wrinkling.
Boots' "Protect & Perfect Beauty Serum is a complex skin care product containing a number of ingredients reported to have anti-oxidant effects. These ingredients include retinol derivatives (related to Retin-A), Vitamin C and E derivatives, peptides, lipopeptides and plant extracts.
