A Cosmetic 'Anti-Aging' Product Improves Photoaged Skin: A Double-Blind Randomized Controlled Trial From the British Journal of Dermatology REB Watson, et al.

Editor's Comments: This study looked at patients who applied an over-the-counter Anti-Aging Product which contained a complex mixture of products including topical retinol. The Anti Aging Product was applied to local areas and then biopsied as well as to the faces of subjects and compared to placebo moisturizing controls.

Both groups who used the Anti Aging Product were reported to have improvement in skin wrinkling. There was also an increase in a marker of skin wrinkle improvement, Fibrillin-1, in patients who applied the anti aging skin product.
The Anti Aging Product used in these studies was made by Boots and the authors were associated with the Boots manufacturer.
